Connelly’s Macho Pintos

Ingredients:

 

  • 1 (1-pound) package Camellia Brand Pinto Beans
  • 8-10 cups cold water
  • whole cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon  dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon   parsley flakes
  • Salt to taste

Directions:

  1. Rinse and sort beans. (Optional: Soak beans using your preferred method.)
  2. In a large pot, cover beans with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1 ½ – 1 ¾ hours.
  3. During last 30 minutes of cooking, add cloves, basil and parsley flakes. Add additional water if necessary.
