Taste, enjoy and then vote for your favorites in four award categories, including: Top Creative Taco, Top Traditional Taco, Top Margarita and Top Creative Cocktail. With amazing live music from Los Poboycitos, The Iguanas, Otra and Muevelo, creative tequila lounge areas, and some of the best chefs and mixologists in the city, Top Taco is the can’t-miss festival this spring. Chef Guillermo Peters of Canal Street Bistro

This year at the Camellia tent, meet two great local chefs as they offer up delicious top tacos made with Camellia beans. The first is Chef Guillermo Peters of Canal Street Bistro, a restaurant that serves refined global cuisine in the heart of Mid-City. His Mexican and German roots make taco magic, and he’ll be serving authentic favorites like Frijoles de Olla, Enfrijoladas and Chipotle Bean Dip.

Chef Lindsey McLellan from El Pavo Real

Also featured at the 2018 Camellia tent will be Chef Lindsey McLellan of El Pavo Real NOLA, a family restaurant in Broadmoor that offers authentic, affordable, scratch-made Mexican food. Chef McLellan, whose husband is Mexican, cooked at several Mexican restaurants in New York before her long stint at the local Spanish restaurant Lola. The mystery tacos she’ll be serving won’t disappoint, so come taste and vote! In the meantime, check out the Black Bean Soup on the restaurant’s menu, garnished with crema, green onion and tortilla strips, and shown below — as well as the brisket tacos — a dish that Chef McLellan occasionally serves as a delicious daily special.
